About
A dark, colossal shape drifts through blue ocean water. Its bumpy gray skin is spangled with barnacles. It is awe-inspiring, but it emanates a gentle grace. It is a mother humpback whale, and with a powerful sweep of her tail, she dives to reveal the baby by her side. Only a quarter of its mother's size, the calf is in its first minutes of life. The mother whale, now supporting baby from below, lifts it to the surface of the water for the first breath of air.
