About

Why are we so captivated by dinosaurs? One would think that an animal long-extinct wouldn’t be that interesting to us. But to the contrary, humans are entranced by those "Terrible Lizards" that once dominated the earth. People love dinosaurs.

Paleontologists devote their entire careers to finding out what dinosaurs looked like, whether they had scales, skin, or feathers, what they ate, how they reared their young, the sounds they might’ve made. At the end of the day, it’s all speculation, because the fact remains: we weren’t there in the dino heyday.

However, one of the most compelling paleontological discoveries is that, well, maybe dinosaurs " or their ancestors " are thriving in our heyday. It is now known that modern day birds are descendants of the Theropod group of animals " the same group that includes Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptors.

In other words, not only does a turkey have a wishbone, but a T-Rex did, too!
