About
The concept of circles gave us the wheel, and gears, which carried us full-force into what we know as modern civilization. Not only is it a functional shape that can be put to use in many ways, the circle is also a provocative metaphor to our meaning-seeking brains. It is the shape of the perfect beach stone and implies the cycle of tides that makes the stone smooth; it is the shape of the full moon and recalls the rhythm of its phases. The circle has no beginning and no end, reminding us of the common thread of life that holds together the fabric of our world.
Artist
Amy Ambroult crafts her jewelry in a small studio where her fine art background informs her aesthetic decisions. She studied graphic design and painting for her Bachelor’s degree, and came to metalsmithing out of a desire to work more with her hands. Amy’s pieces are often whimsical, and explore the link between industrial and organic worlds. Amy’s inspiration comes from her family as well as her love of rock-climbing and gardening.
