Handcrafted by Jen Burrall, this ring is made using recycled sterling silver in Portland, Maine. Fastened with three rivets, the overlapping band is patterned with the veins of a leaf. These branching structures are the paths along which life flows- wear your heart on your sleeve with this ring!

Have you ever seen a time-lapse video of plants growing? One can easily imagine a sense of human longing and need in the way their leaves follow the sun. Over the course of a day, they reach and strain against their earth-bound roots, turning their thirsty faces to catch the full warmth of the sun.

Plants synthesize food out of sunlight and carbon dioxide, and it is that process that makes animal and human life possible. And, like us, plants have veins that are vital pathways. Branching out in a leaf, they carry organic compounds like sugar down to the roots, and from the roots spread more veins that carry water and minerals back up to the leaves. They create a circulatory system that has a pattern mirrored in all breathing things, in the fertile river delta, and even in the roads that take us from place to place.

This silver ring is also available in a wide version. 
This ring is 2mm in the back and 3 mm in the front.
