About
An equinox moon is the rare occurrence of a full moon on the Autumnal equinox, when the length of daylight is equal to the length of night, just before the northern hemisphere quiets down for winter. An equinox moon is not only auspicious of a mild winter, but in slower times it was also a perfect opportunity for a moonlight harvest. Farmers could easily work by the bright light of the full moon to bring in the last of their crops before the nights got colder and darker.
